using id3 tags/date modified when loading
Hi! searched everywhere can't find the answer. Sorry if questions been asked but Im new to forums and cant find it anywahere. I have many albums that only have their track listings in the ID3 tag and not in the filname. since winamp opens songs in each album directory alphabetically, the album is out of order. Is there a way that I can get winamp to sort by date modified or ID3 tag? Either way would reveal the first track in each directory

Playlist > Misc button > Sort > Sort by title
Note, you may need to set up Advanced Title Formatting accordingly (Prefs > Titles) ie. make the playlist display Artist - Album - Track# - Title [%artist% - ][ %album% - ][ $num(%tracknumber%,2) - ] $if2(%title%,$filepart(%filename%)) You could optionally also try altering some settings, eg. Prefs > Playlist: Check/uncheck "when loading multiple files, sort files by name" Prefs > Titles: Read metadata when files are loaded.... |
Thanks very much for your help. works a charm
