changing the directory shouldn't hurt it. is winamp2 currently running on ur system when trying to instal wa5? are any other programs or processes running? does anything get installed? i haven't seen this yet, but some more info could be helpful.

Yes files are placed into the Winamp5 folder, I currently have Winamp 2 + 3 installed but at the time i install i do not have them running. The plugins folder in the Winamp5 folder contains the file gen_ff.dll and a few other .dll files. In the main Winamp5 folder I have 8 icons and 2 subfolders (Plugins + Skins).

do you have any other programs running during install? i had the error (or something similar) once a while back during install. i deleted the folder and made sure nothing was running during install as well as rebooting my computer beforehand. from what i remembered, this helped.

however, i am willing to bet you already did that. are you running a virus program? try disabling or turning off during install. on the other hand, you may have a virus or some hijack software installed that is causing this problem.

You could be right about the already having a virus thing. Been having problems lately :( I have yet to restart my computer due to being busy so far all night. I will tomorrow, I will post back on info of anything that may have helped or anything I have done. Thanks for the help so far.
