What's "Hold time" do?

I couldn't find it anywhere in the help file. Also, why can't I make songs fade in and out? On my brother's computer, it fades in and out when you hit stop or next and stuff, and I can't even change the fade in and out time. And how come you can't have the songs scroll constantly left instead of back and forth? I think back and forth is really stupid and annoying.

Thanks.

1. Hold time is the number of seconds the Notifications "bubble" is displayed.

2. Are you talking about 'Cross-fade' where the songs "blend" together? Cross-fading is built in to the DirectSound outplut plug-in
Ctrl+P (for preferences) > Plug-ins > Output > DirectSound output > Configure button > Fading tab (for fade options)
"On End of Song" fade is controlled with the fade buttons in modern skins.

Or, are you talking about the Notifications bubble? Try this

Thanks! You solved everything that I was wondering about. I thought the notifications fader was like a crossfader slider for some reason, and I also turned on crossfading in the output. :) And I can't have the notifications fade in and out because I'm running Windows 98.

Thanks a lot again!

You're welcome. :)
FYI In the Winamp Modern skin, the cross-fade controls can be found in the Equalizer just below the balance slider.
