WinAmp and AAC files
 
After downloading some of my free songs on I-tunes. They are AAC (protected) files and winamp "plays" AAC but really i cant get it to play them they will show up in my playlist and all but won't play. . .

i dont know how many times this has been answered or not but i couldnt find it anywhere . .

all i want to be able to do is listen to AAC files on winamp .. . i have set it so it is spose to but doesn't any help ?

The AAC plugin included with Winamp will not play protected AAC (.m4p) files. There is an M4P plugin though.

Keep in mind that you need Quicktime installed to be able to play them (the plugin bypasses Winamp's outputs and DSPs) and you have to keep iTunes installed to be authorized to play the protected files. DRM.. yummy.
