ripping speed at only 2 speed

I have ust registered wimamp so that i vcan rip my cd collection onto my computer and the ripping speed is 2 speed or less! why is this? i have 40 speed CDR drive attached but the speed does notseem to get qiucker!

any ideas?

What settings are you using?

Prefs -> CD Ripping

Ripping tab: Speed = Unlimited?

Is 'Read data using Sonic Engine' checked/unchecked?

Encoder tab:

Format/quality settings?

Some system specs might also prove useful, eg.
cpu/ram, cd-rom drive make/model, windows os, etc.
