WinAMP V. WMP

How is WinAMP better than WMP and does it actually sound better?

That's up to YOU to test. See what you like and don't like about the two and which you find more efficient. Also, you're posting at a forum dedicated to Winamp, there's no doubt that you'll get some biased opinions.

I doubt that WMP & WinAmp sound much different at all w/o the equalizers or WOW or Tru Bass.

I like WinAmp for its really neat visualizations (WMP's visualizations are so run-of-the-mill), its Media Library & advanced filtering abilities, and its numerous plugins for additional audio formats & features within the player. I would recommend only using WinAmp's classic skins though, since the modern skins tend to slow the program a bit. (But if you have a fast enough computer, that may not be a problem for you.)

i don't personally like WMP due to it being far to intergrated into windows, as well as the skining options.

i think its ugly.

it uses more resources than Winamp

and microsoft scares the bageezus out of me.

oh and i use FLAC which needs a plugin and runs on winamp and not WMP.

I highly recomend Winamp, although it is a bias opinion since you are posting in a winamp forum. On of my fav features is the preamp, something WMP doesnt have, and how there are more plugins, and a community. Also, yes, winamp uses less resourses.

Also, depending on your installation preferences, Winamp is WAY less bloated than WMP. :)
