queueing

why cant the new winamp have a decent queing facility like winamp 3. or does it have a way to change this. apart from this winamp 5.02 is gr8.

What do you mean? Enqueueing songs from within the playlist to play in a certain order without actually changing the list? Or something else?

Reaper 29th February 2004 21:10

I'm assuming you're talking about the 'Alt+Click' method of enqueuing in the Winamp 3 playlist; If you installed Jump to File Extra with Winamp 5.02, you already have the feature.

Open the preferences (press Ctrl+P) -> go to Gen Prefs/Jump to File -> configure.

If you don't have it installed, get it here.

well at the moment when i right click on a song in a playlist/send to/ active playlist(enqueue) and it sends the song to the bottom of the playlist.

That's intended.

Go to Jump to File in the Preferences (if you have it installed, as I described in the first post) -> 'Menu and Buttons' tab -> make sure 'Enqueue selected' is highlighted in the bottom section. When you want to queue a file as the next to be palyed, right click on the entry in the playlist and click 'Enqueue selected'.

What you want to do is right click, then go to Jump to file > Enqueue. If you have the plug-in, that is. If not, you'll have to download it.

EDIT: Er, Reaper beat me to it.

thanks. just one more question. in winamp 3 it numbers the songs that are in the queue list is this version able to do it.

No.

There is a way to view what songs you have queued though. Go to Options > Preferences > Jump To File > Enqueue List

Edit: If you play around with the Jump To File configuration options, you can make "Manage Queue" appear in the Playlist Editor's right-click menu. It'll take you directly to Options > Preferences > Jump To File > Enqueue List.
