Wanna Convert Winamo Media Files
 

hi... a friend passed me songs on a cd but at the time i was takikng them down to my pc i noticed they were in winamp media file... and i really got disturbed :S

and i want you, i ya can to tell me how to bring those files onto mp3 files please if ur so kind :D

There is no "Winamp Media file". Windows sees file that are associated with winamp as "Winamp media file". It could be an mp3, ogg, etc.

aja... so how do i make it appear as mp3?

I'm pretty sure it's explained in the other thread ?!

Windows > Folder Options > View tab
Uncheck: hide extensions for known file types

You will now see that those files have .mp3 at the end.

If you don't want the description to be Winamp Media File, then de-select MP3 in: Winamp Prefs -> File Types
and make some other godforsaken player the default mp3 player instead :/
