DJ-ing as a profession
Personally I think DJ-ing is more of a hobby than a career. However, I've heard of several DJ's who actually take up Disc Jockeying as their core profession (and some of them have turned out as outstanding artists!)
Is it really worth it? Would it make a full-time job for any audiophile? |
It'd certainly be a dream (being *paid* to do *music*).
But, it's just that. A dream....... With the music I'd play, the club would empty in no time at all.:D I'd be sacked on the first night (and probably left on Dartmoor for dead). |
during the 80's I have been a paid DJ in several clubs -
1981-1984 from my 15th until i was 19 in summertime with tourist coming in every night i used to make more money than my dad in a week. it was a busy time back than because we also had our own illegal radio station going. Radio Sirius , as bright as the star. one of the reasons i know a lot of 80's songs. but it's a passed station- i wouldn't go back to clubs to play the dj nowdays. I would however be a dj at a radio station if someone would have me. |
