Preferences
 

Winamp will not save my preferences - every time I start or restart my computer I have to put in my preferences - this is getting very frustrating. How do I correct this?

Which Winamp version do you use?

Usually caused by having the files set to 'Read Only'.

Winamp keeps it's settings in various files in the main Winamp folder, check these can be written to :

Winamp.ini - main settings
Winamp.bm - bookmarks
Winamp.q1 - standard EQ presets
Winamp.q2 - personal EQ presets
in_cdda.cdb - CD database (Plugins folder)

There are a couple more if you use the FULL version

Studio.xnf - modern skins
gen_ml.ini - media library settings (Plugins folder)
ml folder - media library data

(edit) refers to Winamp 5 (edit)
