Winamp 5.02 and DFX 6
 

i can't DFX 6 to run with Winamp 5.02.i downloaded DFX 6 for Winamp 5. i installed it and it does not work.
any sugestions?

Contact the plug-in's developer. 3rd party plug-ins are not officially supported here.

I run it all the time with no trouble. Check Preferences > Plugins > DSP/Effect. You should see DFX listed there. Select it and then "Configure active plugin". Make sure the "display..." box is checked.

That wasn't nice. There have been 3.4 million downloads of this plugin reported in Winamp. So, this isn't just some oddball plugin. Don't we want all users to be happy, and come to the forums to get reasonable help?

How many downloads there have been doesn't matter. If it isn't made by Nullsoft, it is not (officially) supported here, and you will get better answers by contacting the devlopers.

So..? Number of downloads doesn't make it special in any way.

Whoa... people still use DFX? I thought it was a nice plug-in for a while, but it was just a waste of money once I found out that I couldn't upgrade for free to a new version of it...


Oh well, now the only time I care about pure audio quality is in my car, which I have a kickass sound system for... fuck DFX. Winamp sounds great just the way it is, or with the EQ set to High Bass/Treble.

Edit: Oh, by the way... use Enhancer.. free, and much better than DFX in my opinion... only problem: the latest version is old, it seems that the author has given up on it. But that doesn't matter - it's still better than DFX 5 and 6.
