File endings....
Hi,
I just copied a few songs from cd to the pc with the windows media player... so the files are .wma files. When I open them in Winamp (v5.02), this file ending is visible in the playlist and I cannot change the file settings. It only appears the window "wma file info". How can I get rid of these endings? |
Winamp doesn't fully support wma files without third-party plugins. However, the new Winamp 5.03 assumably supports WMA. I havn't personally tested it yet, so not sure how good it is.

Try upgrading and see if that fixed your problem. |
Looks like it doesn't (using it right now) but there's one way to get arround it: Just tag all the files correctly in the media library and use advanced title formating (use the default style) and presto: .wma ending is gone ;)
|
The only way that works for me is to use a directory structure like artist/album/title or album/artist - title and enable guessing in prefs/media library (if it isn't on by default, can't remember).

ctrl + E in the media library lets you edit the ML info of the file btw ;)
EDIT: note: it only works in the ML btw. (if it doens't I'll have to do a clean install or look at the tips.txt :p) |
