winamp 5.03 gen_ff.dll crash
 

if i rename/delete this file I can run winamp 5.03 but this disables the modern skin. Is there a work around for this? Is it possible to revert back to 5.02 so I can use winamp again? I thought this was a full version (non-beta).

can someone answer me this...

can I install 5.02 on top of 5.03? I do not want to lose all my settings, color themes, plugins (TV, LCD, etc) because it takes too long to reconfigure it all.

Can I uninstall 5.03 and will it keep all that intact? and then I can reinstall 5.02?

ok i found the problem. somehow my custom color themes xml file is corrupted.

not exactly. in the 8 yrs I have been using the program this is the first time I have had a serious problem getting it to run on a new version.

i have lost the ability to use my custom color themes for now. i will try adding them to the xml file in the /xml folder and see if that works.

Do you think the problem occured after installing the MMD3 skin? Have you tried uninstalling the MMD3 skin?

Do you have the color themes editor? Maybe the problem is related to the following from Troubleshooters - Common Issues...

1. I don't have the MMD3 skin installed
2. I do have the color themes editor. I will check that link.
3. It is strange that it worked before. Maybe I had ver 5.01 installed before I upgraded to 5.03

That would explain the problem then
(as caused by the old & incompatible color theme pack)

Sorry about the MMD3 thing, I confused your post with another.

not using the theme pack. but I have now made a new custom color xml file and I am checking each one to try and find the culprit. thanks for the help and linkage! :D
