Crossfade plus Songannounce
Lo all, I've found a fabulous little plugin called FadeAmp (find it here: FadeAmp)
I'm loving it, it's clean, it's spiffy. Only problem is that it's somewhat of a hack, since it needs two winamps open. Now I found another little fun toy called Winamp Announcer (link is here) and this I'm loving too. Now the obvious problem is that I cannot use these two together. The process is as follows: You have Winamp A and Winamp B. Winamp A plays song One, Winamp B has song Two on pause at 0:00. Winamp A has song Three queued under song one. When I think we've heard enough of song One, I hit cross fade, Winamp B is unpaused, song Two starts playing, volume on Winamp A goes down at the same rate it goes up on Winamp B. When Winamp A reaches the end of song One and skips to song Three, it is automatically put on pause at 0:00. Everyone's happy. Problem is, soon as this happens, announcer merrily announces that song Three starts playing, while song Three is still on pause, waiting for song Two to finish. I hope I'm making myself clear so far :P So generally, I love both effects, I want them both, but I dunno how. Problem with Winamp's builtin crossfade is that I don't always want crossfade. There are 5 seconds songs (intros to other songs) that I want to move swiftly into the next song (so I'd play them in the same Winamp in aforementioned scenario). Ideally, what I'd need would be a version of announcer where I can hit a key and it puts the song CURRENTLY playing on the screen. Does a such thing exist to your knowledge? Could you think of another solution to my problem? And if you happen to live around Saarbrücken, Germany, you may wanna contact me for details on how you can listen to whatever solution I found in action this coming Wednesday night :PPP Daniel |
