Bandwith

What's the minimum Bandwith i need
for a good stream??
(kbs please)

That depends on which video codec you use and which audio codec you use.

_HF_ 11th April 2004 17:29

depends on both your broadcast material and the number of people you want to see it simultaneously.

if you want good quality music videos, and lots of people... then you'd better start saving some $$$.

on the other hand, I can support 10 people viewing my crappy webcam at 24 kbps (1.3 fps, and really shitty audio) over my cable connection (256kbps upstream).

I was using
Video: Vp3 3.1
audio codec: RAW AAC v1.00

EricZone 12th April 2004 02:35

I would say minimum with VP6/AAC :
64kb for audio
100k for video+audio

ravetrax 12th April 2004 14:29

We are running vp3 (15fps/192k video) with an 128k AAC audio signal. Its about 320k per user.

A bit much if your just starting.

But what EricZone said is a good starting point.

Rava

You can get away with 32kbps AAC if you use mono. 96kbps for VP6 is workable, so 128kbps will suffice for people starting out.

Smelter 13th April 2004 00:48

I had great results with 80KbVp6@18 FPS and 48Kaac mono

Who do you all use? I had been using EGI but .........
