Sorry to be a pain... this has most probably already been asked
ok then i run my shoutcast DNAS, and then it seems to stall on....
<04/14/04@14:07:31> [source] listening for connection on port 8001 ive tried connecting to http://http://80.43.215.44:8001/listen.phs but i get an error message- invalid password and in the server monitor <04/14/04@14:15:06> [source] invalid password from GET /listen.phs HTTP/1.1 80.43.215.44 this question has probably already been answerd and i would much appreciate any support, as all the other posts have been really well answerd ps im using norton internet security, on a LAN with one other machine Cheers |
portBase+1 (8001 the default) is the source port.
All activity towards the DNAS is done using portBase. http://80.43.215.44:8000/listen.pls Notice the phs to pls change, too. I don't see a DNAS visible at http://80.43.215.44:8000 Is the DNAS on? Any errors in the DNAS log? Please post the DNAS startup log snippet including connecting a source and the yp addition. |
Thinks have progressed greatly since my last post, things are fine and seem to run smoothly exept i get this error
and what is the addy people conect to, is it :- http://myip:8000/listen.pls <04/14/04@20:26:12> [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: 80.43.217.234:8000) from the Internet, disable Internet Sharing/NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection timed out)) THANK YOU! |
Aloha!
Two (or less) easy steps: 1. If you have a firewall, open the necessary port(s). 2. If you have a router, configure it to forward the necessary port(s) to the DNAS machine. Check out the SHOUTcast Technical Support Sticky post titled: SHOUTcast: Important Info & Answers to FAQs. READ ME! Scroll down a bit and look for the section titled: DNAS Stuff -> Errors -> Fixing [yp_add] yp.shoutcast.com gave extended error (Cannot see your station/computer (IP: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx) from the Internet, disable NAT/firewall/ISP cache (Connection timed out) Are the necessary ports open in your firewall and are they being forwarded to the DNAS machine? Are you using Windows XP? That has an internal firewall. Either configure it or disable it. Does your ISP block ports? Check out http://www.radiotoolbox.com/cantheygetin and see if the reported information there helps. Try setting the DNASs YPort to 666. Check out the DNASs sc_serv.ini/conf configuration file for the section (default shown below): code: Please read some polite advice. ******************* DNAS link: http://yourDNASip:yourDNASport Listen link: http://yourDNASip:yourDNASport/listen.pls Replace yourDNASip with the ip of the DNAS (SHOUTcast server) and yourDNASport with the DNAS port (default is 8000) Example: If your DNAS ip is 123.345.567.789 and your DNAS portBase is 2112, then your links would be: DNAS link: http://123.345.567.789:2112 Listen link: http://123.345.567.789:2112/listen.pls Also, if your router doesn't support local loopback then machines on the same lan as the DNAS (you) need to use the lan ip of the DNAS to connect/listen. Machines not on the same lan as the DNAS (the rest of the world) need to use the real, world-visible ip of the DNAS to connect/listen. Please don't give out urls with 127.0.0.1 as the ip. That is a local loopback ip. See RFC3330 for more information. Please don't give out urls with 192.168.x.y or 10.x.y.z or 172.(16-31).x.y as the ip. That is a private lan ip. See RFC1918 for more information. Scroll down and look for the section titled: 3. Private Address Space How to find your ip address (Part I). How to find your ip address (Part II). Finally, you can get a static name, such as foo.bar.com (not as cool as that, though :)) from http://www.no-ip.com or one of the other myriad of Dynamic DNS Services. Then, your links would be: DNAS link: http://foo.bar.com:yourDNASport Listen link: http://foo.bar.com:yourDNASport/listen.pls Please read some polite advice. http://www.flex.com/~fester/shaka.gif |
