Problem running in_mpg123.dll with in_mp3.dll

Hello, All --

Running Winamp 5.03a. Running the very fine Shibatch in_mpg123.dll plugin. At the same time, to get AAC support, also running the in_mp3.dll plugin, but with MP3 disabled. All is great except for one problem. Now whenever Winamp invokes the Open files dialogue, MP3 files are not shown as a supported file type.

Is there any way to get this to show MP3 as a supported file type, or am I just stuck with this as the price to pay for using in_mpg123?

All help greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Try contacting the author then. First try updating to Otachan's in_mpg123 which is currently being developed.

Hi, Drewbar --

Well, I guess I caused confusion here by inartfully phrasing the question.

The problem I presented is not caused by the Shibatch in_mpg123 plugin at all. It makes no difference what version of the plugin you're using, nor does it make any difference whether the plugin is even installed at all. The problem arises when you disable MP3 in the Winamp in_mp3 plugin. As soon as you take out MP3 from the WA plugin, WA does not recognize MP3 files as supported files in the Open files dialog. As soon as you restore MP3 to the WA plugin, WA immediately recognizes MP3 files as supported. This is the result regardless of whether you are using the Shibatch plugin, the MAD plugin, or no other plugin at all.

So, my question really should have been: is there any way to get Winamp to recognize MP3 files as supported files when MP3 support has been removed from the in_mp3 plugin? I'll bet the answer is no, but maybe one of you guys out there might have a definitive answer.

BTW, I am using the latest version of in_mpg123, v. 118 ot 67c, but as I said, that makes no difference to my problem.

Anyway, that's where I am right now. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your help. Good talking to you again.

Take care.
