Now that is freaky. Is this shit legit?
|

o.O

As I was talking to squak... It seems impossible to have so many lines be satanic concidentally (sp?) or maybe they tried to put it in there, but that's unlikely.
...The world may never know... |
Google people.
http://www.positiveatheism.org/crt/cliff73.htm Ah hah. Now you have to make up your own mind. Whatever shall you do. |
Seriously, Open a wav. editor (nero is packaged with one) and play it backwards.
|
as i have heard, that kind of stuff isn't legal anymore.
stupid government... |

I hope and pray you are using the term legit loosely, though I do obviously pull my previously posted Google link. I shall, however, find a better one that succinctly states "get real."
|
Oh crap it is real.
Worked with my own copy of the song. It actually worked. |

This one is oooold.:blah: Like 30 years or so... (no, I don't mean the song; the backmasking theory).
I wouldn't care so much about Stairway, but you've got to remember that Jimmy Page (the guitarist of the band) had a mania in owning stuff related to Aleister Crowley (some british satanist/black magic guy from the 19:th century). As far as I rememeber the song In My Time Of Dying (that was published on Physical Graffiti) has the lenght of 11:05,something, at least winamp's MPEG file info box tells me the lenght is 666 seconds, wich I hardly can think of accidential... Especially as In My Time Of Dying is an old blues/gospel song that Led Zeppelin sang maybe to make joke of it. Check out the lyrics if you're interested, not exactly what you'd expect from a hard-rock band... ...But i like the song:) BTW Maybe this should be moved to the music-forum? |
I just found out my mom and dad actualy knew about this back IN the 70's.
|
Did you actually listen to the song backwards? It does not sound Satanic at all. OK, it does sound like "the one whose little path would make me sad" but that doesn't make any sense. Just accept the fact that Led Zeppelin lyrics don't make sense in either direction and continue enjoying.

*looks for Stairway To Heaven Mp3*
*doesn't find it* oh well... |

How do you reverse messages using nero's editing program?
|
um... i just converted the file into wav and used the windows sound recorder

Here's the parts extracted from a fairly low quality Mp3:
The parts are there, but without the text, I wouldn't recognize any of the words. Keep in mind that that human mind is very skilled at seeing/hearing things that arn't there (ever look at a cloud looking for something in particular?); that is, the human mind generally tries to fit things it observes into something understandable... http://xzxzzx.com/fmp3/stairwayforwards.mp3 http://xzxzzx.com/fmp3/stairwaybackwards.mp3 |
Now what subliminal messages might Wierd Al be sending in his stuff now.

nah they probably just have some weird reference to the number 27
|
Odd, considering I found this out last week.
Zepplin's studio engineerer (forget his name now) used to do this all the time on songs. He could somehow take the lyrics and echo them off the guitars and other instruments. My favorite part of that is the little toolshed part though. :D I hear that Sabbath has a TON of backwards messages in their songs though, try searching for those. |
^ You can hear Black Sabbath's messages just playing it forward.
|
True, but I bet there's even more backwards.
Also, Zepplin had the same studio engineerer as Pink Floyd. I've never tried it, but I bet there are some there too. |
That's OLD. There is an Non Governamental Organization here on Brasil that takes these stuff seriuously. It has some law things against MTV Brasil and other things !
Try to take a look in english ... ONG MENSAGEM SUBLIMINAR |
wow..
|
My buddy used to own a record store in redondo beach, CA and he had a Tammy Faye Baker ep sitting around...so we decided to play it backwords one day and...no joke...it said "give me money" as clear as day...funny, but in the end...who really gives a shiite?
:weird: |
*YawnS* Not this one again ..very old ...and Ozzy never has bit the head of a Bat - No matter what the idiot media say ....
Another Manufactured bit of rubbish is what I reckon (More truth in that than I probably think) as some one says The human mind plays tricks attempting to 'Fill' in the missing but's - simply here your 'Trying' to hear words - The logical side of your brain is trying to make some sence out of the garbage your playing ( What music/singing sounds like in reverse - Garbage) and so it (the Brain) try's to sort it out it 'Hears' words - summit like that, still won't stop the blue rinse brigade from there battle cry "There corrupting our children@ - just like they were 'Corrupted" with Rock'N'Roll and Swing befor e that, befor e that The Charlston era's - like I say very old and getting boring now..... ~ :) |
big.
fucking. Deal. When you play revolution No 9 by the Beatles (White Album), the words "Number 9, Number 9" it sounds like "turn me on Dead Man." IT's just a coincidence. Weird, but true. Also, if they hadn't had the words up on that chart thinger, I wouldn't have been able to find a lot of the meaning. It's just a curiosity, folks. Nothing more. |
I agree that probably some of this is people just interpretting random garbage into coherent monologue. However, I must say that I am much more likely to "interpret" things from listening to backwards-played music than I am to interpret something from, say, music in another language. But wouldn't that be essentially the same thing (at least when I don't know the other language?)
I wouldn't put anything past some of these bands, so why worry about it? Frankly, Britney Spears worries me more. I'd play HER music backward, if I had the stomach for it. |

Fickle -- "Getting Laid"
*hides* |
Yeah, this is well old.
Heh. Didn't know about the rest of it, but I remember ~25 years ago a friend of mine having the vinyl, and by manually playing it backwards you can clearly hear "Here's to my sweet Satan" for the line "you can always change the road you're on". @nybergh Page even went as far as buying Crowley's old mansion. Not sure if he still lives in it though... |
