Summer Albums

I'm getting set for another summer, music is always essential.

Which albums 'frame' that summer's day?

Crustation - Bloom (1998)

http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P...3.LZZZZZZZ.gif

Genre - Trip Hop

ShyShy 26th April 2004 16:37

Umm... I tend to start listening to more of Motown and Latin music during the summer. I'll post more as I go along.

Cylob 26th April 2004 21:03

Mega City Four - Sebastopol Road (1992)

http://www.you-here.com/images/press_181102.jpg

Has summer written all over it.

Twilightseer 27th April 2004 09:44

For summer, an absolute classic is New Order's "Technique", in fact this record IS summer in my opinion :D

Cylob 28th April 2004 10:19

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Possibly! The last track oozes summer.:) Then there's Mr Disco, ah yeah........ Vanishing Point. Not forgetting Round & Round (with glockenspiel), oh, and Fine Time.

Sod it! You're right!:D

Twilightseer 28th April 2004 10:29

:D

I would add to that "Disco 2" by the Pet Shop Boys. Few people like this remix album but the fact that it emphasizes fast-paced high-energy tracks makes it a perfect summer album :)

Cylob 28th April 2004 12:21

Which reminds me...

magnus, body gave you everything
air, talkie walkie

The DJ Shadow/Cut Chemist Brainfreeze sets.
Anything by eels.
Anything by Madness.

Crustation with Bronagh Slevin - Bloom (great, but unfortunately quite rare summery trip hop album)

Cylob 29th May 2006 08:19

Not so rare (refer to post #1). :D

Ivy - Long Distance (2001)
http://image.allmusic.com/00/amg/cov...84905zto6l.jpg

Not much sign of summer (yet), but no shortage of a summer tune.

This is more like Smiths weather. :hang:

Hoooly shit... how did I miss that.

Still, it's a great album (and yes, it is actually rare now).

So, erm, my entry will be Garmarna - Vengeance.
