Does the DNAS machine have a dynamic lan ip and/or a dynamic wan ip?
|
I think i have i dynamic lan ip - that is everytime i connect my IP changes ryt?
|
Hi Neilsonator
Go to... TinyIP or NoIP ...to sort your dynamic IP problems :) http://a1kc.zapto.org:7144/listen.pls |
I have registered on No-Ip.com and added a redirect but im still getting the NAK error??
is there something really obvious im missing? |
You have to have a DNS client that sends your current IP address to NO-IP and does so everytime your IP changes. There are many available for trial.
|
If you have a dynamic lan ip, then everytime the DNAS machine get a new lan ip, you'll need to edit the port forwarding rules.
Fix: Assign the DNAS machine a static lan ip and write the port forwarding rules once. |
OK firstly does is solving my dynamic IP problem solve Y I can connect sometimes but not others?
and could you suggest a good DNS client Must show my ignorence in not understanding what u mean by writing the port forwarding rules! Cheers! |
