If i wanted to put winamp on my website so people could download it, do i have to have permission?

I mean of course I would premote it :)

Basicaly, are you telling me that anything that happens to anyone or anything is my fault if i accept, and I am not allowed to do anything that distrupt copyright?

Just link to this website and say go download it, it kicks ass.

The question is, why host winamp on your site?

AOL has plentiful amounts of bandwidth there for the taking.

Just link to the main download and you're as good as done.

The only reason I can see for hosting "the file" yourself is if you wish to modify it, in which case, you are almost certainly breaking the redistibution agreement anyway.

I'd love to see Winamp distributed in cereal boxes. I got a free dvd of the Muppets Take Manhattan, and it was full of AOL spa...err...marketing :) . I wonder if they can be convinced to include some MUST-HAVE software? ;)

email a link to winamp download site to evryone that sends you spam. I suspect that rageeman means a mirror but as you say AOL aint short on bandwidth so rather unneccesary

I think that what i'll do is make a mirrow link to AOL's mirror then say underneath 'from AOL'...
