Please tell me, is this a rip?

Dear Winamp community,

This is my second skin, I made. I've never finished the first one, because it took me too much time. (was too young, yet unexperienced.) I've created this one in 2 days, and it still needs a little work to complete it. (it's a 2.71 version btw.)

Anyway, I would like to know how you feel abou this one, cause it's obviously based on the basic Winamp skin. I can't help it, but I think most skins out there, imo, use-less, cause you don't recon the original buttons.

Thanks for sharing your opinion,

Michael

What are you saying this is a potential rip of? The base skin? If so, I don't think it's a rip at all - I think it's sufficiently different from the base skin.

I agree that a large proportion of skins aren't made with as much attention to functionality as they should have. Though when you've made a few skins, you'll start to know winamp like the back of your hand, so it becomes less of a problem. Though, having said that, I still think good functionality is very important in a skin.

As for aesthetics, I think this is quite decent, although I think it would be funkier and more original if everything wasn't so square, but if you gave things some more fluid shapes. Also, a few things, like the eq bars and the posbar aren't very well integrated into the rest - they are just kind of 'floating' there. Still, a promising first/second skin :)
