Can't play CDs...?
I set Winamp as my default player for CDs, but it doesn't automatically start playing them like it should. I went to the Help section of my player, and it told me to go to File>>Open Directory. The only problem is, I don't have and "Open Directory" option in my File menu. I used the keyboard shortcuts (Ins or Shft+L) for Open Directory, but when I select the CD from the pop-up menu, it doesn't play.
Is there some other way to play CDs? Why isn't Winamp my default CD player, even though I set that option? |
You may have discovered a typo in the online help (Playing Audio CDs). AFAIK that should read "File > Play Folder > Select CDROM"
Alternately you can also... Menu Icon > Play > Audio CD -or- Right click on a "empty space" in main player/window > Play > Audio CD As for the CD not playing 1. Ctrl+P 2. Plug-ins >Input 3. double click 'Nullsoct CD/LineIn plug-in' 4. check 'Enable digital audio extraction when possible' and/or check 'Use Sonic engine when possible' (close & restart Winamp for changes to take affect) No Luck? Please post a reply with system specs. |
It worked! I was about *this* close to pulling my hair out. Thank you so much!
