Musical Orgasm
Musical Orgasm
There are a lot of 'shiver' moments in songs that I love. What I mean is, the music hits some kind of crecendo or little part where all the pieces come together so perfectly that is sends a shiver across my shoulders, or sometimes, a tear to my eye. I absolutely LOVE these. A musical orgasm, if you will. I'll list some of my shiver moments if you'll share yours! And please, don't feel like you have to submit anywhere near as many as I have :-) Perhaps, just as you come across them while listening to your music, you could do us all the favor of posting them here! Here's the format: "[Descriptive Title of Moment]" - [Artist] - [Song] - [Approx. time of moment] So, for example, some of my shiver moments: "No One Said I Was" - VAST - Thrown Away - 2:00 "Distortion Strikes" - Radiohead - Creep - 0:59 "Because" - Radiohead - 2+2=5 - 1:53 "Best!" - Muse - Butterflies and Hurricanes - 4:23 "Come in my Cave" - Muse - Cave - 1:19 "Sudden Solo" - Blue Oyster Cult - Don't Fear the Reaper - 2:43 "Through my hair" - System of a Down - Spiders - 0:47 "Returning in Force" - Metallica - Orion - 7:01 "Screaming Tears" - Guns & Roses - Sweet Child of Mine - 4:07 "No Words Can Describe" - Guns & Roses - November Rain - 7:10 "Seize the Day" - Dream Theater - A Change of Seasons - 7:16 "Bridge" - Chris Impellitteri - Somewhere Over the Rainbow - 2:28 "And I" - Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You - 3:09 "Rising Power" - Joe Satriani - Chords of Life - 1:24 "Speed Riff" - John Petrucci - Live Guitar Solo - 2:27 [same as Liquid Tension Experiment - Paradigm Shift - :44, but sounds better] "Sweet Solo Entrance" - Dream Theater - Glass Prison - 2:22 "And We Have Liftoff" - Dream Theater - Dance of Eternity - 2:05 "Simple Beauty" - Coldplay - Clocks - 3:41 "Rising Theme" - Danny Elfman - Spider-Man Theme - 2:02 "Power Destruction" - Clint Mansell - Lux Aeterna (Two Towers orchestral remix) - 3:05 "Realize" - Flaming Lips - Do You Realize - 0:20 "Pick Up the Pace" - Guns & Roses - Paradise City - 4:47 "Climax" - Godspeed You Black Emperor! - East Hastings - 11:54 "Got Down" - Beach Boys - California Dreamin' - 0:49 "Rage" - Metallica - Sanitarium - 1:49 "Never Been Born At All" - Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody - 2:22 "Best. The soft sort of flying type keyboard sounds in comfortably numb.
Also, that moment when all the building up just stops and the quiet piano starts up, between waiting for the worms and stop right at the end of the wall. |
