nullsoft portable mp3 players
 

my next suggestion is that I have always though that winamp is an awesome program, and has great setup and design and its all about pretty. I began thinking.. hmm this would be an aweson design for a portable mp3 player. I cant imagine how many people would buy winamp portable mp3 players. and many more if it had support for most of the file types out there (following in its pc brother's footsteps)... I know I would but one... in fact I wanna see how many would, and thus a poll! :p anywho, I was bored, and too a screenshot of winamp, and edited it with paintbrush to see what a portable mp3 player by winamp could look like.. I just edited the winamp modern skin.. so I accept no ownership of it or whatever. and I made it have feature most portable media devices have.

a hold button
the turn wheel style of volume control
made the title area look like an lcd screen.
the position thing is also lcd ish.
upper left menu button now is a power button, and I removed the vis drawer buttons and the config one too.

I honestly think nullsoft could make alot of money doing this, and maybe set new standard as a portable media company! who agrees?

and they would do that how seeing as the player is only worked on by two people and what you are asking is for a hardware solution which they are not skilled in?

and as ElChevelle mentioned, been suggested before (i think the last one was about 2 months back... search is your friend)

damn... and here I thought I had an original Idea... sorry, I apologise for not searching...

and about how they could make money. I never said they would have to make it themselves, they could hire a good company to be their partner on this project... and if they did go in the hole a bit to get them made, I beleive enough people would buy them to give them quite a bit of profit. Ok, so it is a bit off, and its doubtful... and I posted about something that had been said before... hmm well any comments on my image edit? ... I made it in microsoft paintbrush :igor: ... so it took some time...

and btw, all, thanks for not killing this thread... I at least am interested in how much other people are interested in this.

It's a valid idea which I'd love to be a part of after owning 2 MP3 players that I thought could be much better.

The problem is that AOL Time Warner would add a tonne of Digital Rights Managment rstrictions to the hardware and probably only sell you songs from thier own artist roster . So it kinda goes against Nullsofts ethos .

I think Nullsoft and its devs already does a great job of supporting mp3 plugins just look at ml_ipod and the creative zen projects .
