IS there a way to get rid of the lines in this gradient?

I'm working on a new logo, but whenever I copy paste the gradient it gets all choppy...

Use photoshop.

protegechris 10th June 2004 14:15

That's what I used :D

Vie 10th June 2004 14:17

Use Paint, seriously it sometimes works.

protegechris 10th June 2004 14:21

aww damn. I knew this keyboard was crap.

The print screen key doesnt work :D :D :D

Can someone print screen that gradient, and make it 240x110 , and save it as a PSD for me?

I remembered at the time i made this i DID use PSP instead of PS, because my trial had run out

This help?

edit\I just created a new one close to your colors

protegechris 10th June 2004 17:56

hmm.

Whenever i select the gradient, it says it was unable to copy, because "the selected area" was empty.

:-/

protegechris 10th June 2004 17:59

thanks monkey, thatis perfect :D

thank both of you :)

protegechris 10th June 2004 18:20

woohoo triple post.

The gradient you gave me appears so dark when I use it. Did you get the gradient from the Top of the page, or from towards the middle?

Use the 'Merged Copy' Function (Shift+CTRL+C)

protegechris 11th June 2004 12:21

Ok, for some reason whenever I try to copy paste anything into Photoshop its just shows blank space.

I'll try paint now lol

If it's a gif the probelm is a lack of colours. GIF only use 256 colours which is not a lot of bits to create a smooth gradient.

Try making a dup.......

....you know what, mail it to me.
ME FIX!

protegechris 11th June 2004 17:21

What exactly do you want sent to ya?

ElChevelle 11th June 2004 17:30

It's NOT a Photoshop problem. Phily's right, you are either trying to copy a .gif area OR you have rendered yourself unable to copy a gradient. I'd be more than happy to fix it for you but:

Dayum, what crap server is hosting your forums, takes forever to load.
I just need your font BUT if you, in photoshop, go to "Image">Mode>switch from Indexed Color to RGB, you'll be able to select gradient areas.

This is what I did when I switched it into RGB mode.

protegechris 11th June 2004 18:21

It normally is quick as lightning. The server running the SQL databases crashed today, and it is running slow as they try to get everything back in order.

I will try again with this later. I'm working on a secret project :d

zootm 11th June 2004 18:29

if you "save for web" with photoshop, you can select dithering, which dots colours in to make low-colour images look like higher ones. taht woud make it less line-y.

ElChevelle 11th June 2004 18:33

Gif images are good for one thing only:
Animation

horse-fly 11th June 2004 23:35

mark 12th June 2004 21:32
