Check your port status here this will give you and idea if your ports is CLOSED or being BLOCKED. That will give you a clue if you have a firewall active that you may not know about or you have another issue.

bloodfest04 20th June 2004 16:12

hi thanks for the reply this is what i got from that site

68.19.112.33:8000 is Closed

Reason Given: Connection timed out
More about this error: This means that you are most likely behind a firewall, this error esentially says that you and your computer aren't there. You might also check to be sure that your ip is 68.19.112.33, if it is not then you are behind some sort of proxy

and this is what it says when i do a ipconfig in cmd

Networking 101: Your IP address as reported here is your "private" LAN IP address your computer on it's network. The reported WAN IP address of 68.19.112.33 is your "public" IP address. That is the address outside your router. IOt is the address you will eventually use to setup your listener link. This report also says that you do have a router and it is acting as a DHCP that is providing IP addresses inside the LAN, which it is supposed to do.

I suggest you log into your router and forward ports 8000 & 8001 to IP address 192.168.1.197

Before we get to far into this, are you on a home PC or some school?

bloodfest04 20th June 2004 16:33

iam on a home pc that is hookd up str8 to the modem.. i have no router

bloodfest04 20th June 2004 17:11

ok i think i fixd it this moden they gave me i a router all so so i went and opend them and they had shoutcast server in the place to open the ports lol.....

anyways can anyone tell me if it is runing http://65.3.45.41:8000 /listen.pls

NJK 20th June 2004 17:41

sorry can't connect
so it still isn't working

DJCassio 20th June 2004 18:13

You did notice that your IP has changed didn't you? That means you are also on a dynamic IP so you have to use a static DNS service, I recommend using www.no-ip.com.
