stuck on mono
 

my win amp 5 is stuck on mono and it was stuck on mono in winamp 3 as well. I am useing ME as my os and 800mgz celeron, 20 gig.(half free) and 256 memory. winamp is the default player also it skips when another program starts and when it is the only running app. WTF! Any help?

What is your soundcard?
DirectX version? (Start button > Run... > type DXDIAG > click OK > System tag)?
Which file types are you having troubles with? (MP3, WMA, MIDI, CDs, etc)?

Thanx 4 the help jonny. This is weird, the files say mostly mp3 ( alot of files ) but the file info in winamp says mpeg on all of the files ?.
I am using direct 9.0b. I tested all of the DirX stuff and it was fine. why is there no mono/stereo button? Man that would be easier. Still in need of help.

MP3s are MPEGs, so it's ok there. What do you have a for a soundcard? Do you have the latest drivers for your card?

Please post a screen shot of the file info box (Alt+3) for one of the files incorrectly playing as mono.

I got the blue screen of death and had to dump it all, so starting from scratch. Thanx all for the help.ps. it happened right after i downloaded the volume equalizer from this site and tried to use it.
