Which habits/mannerisms did you pick up from the forums?
 

It never occured to me to pee in the shower before reading certain posts at these wonderful forums. Since those dark days, I've truly discovered the joys of release while a cascade of warm water flows down on my face and body. I'll never go back.

In addition, I've developed a true loathing for just about all of humanity. Thanks, Winamp! :up:

So what habits have you developed thanks to the Winamp forums???

Instead of laughing at jokes I say "LOL" out loud for some reason.

I also use the word 'tard more often in conversation...

I always knew men were sick and twisted individuals!
This place became more of an affirmation of that fact!

Anytime someone asks a question when the answer is right in front of their face, I axe murder them.

i say tard in conversation a lot more now too.

I stared using 'tard, fugly, and asshat.

I started saying pwned. It's difficult to pronounce. pee-owned. Like "I just peed and now the couch that I owned is gone"

I now find myself saying "LOL" and "Pwnt" occationaly in normal conversation.

I fing myself in front of the computer alot more times a day, and I say "LOL" alot more in daily conversations outside of the internet.

i say "meh" to indicate disinterestedness (woo, i made a big word!)

An excessive use of LOL in my mind, wanting to escape verbally when I hear a joke...and the extreme loathing of humanity.

I also use "<3" a lot now..

sarcasm mostly - witty remarks - a better understanding of the english language - and some forum friends.(who also outside the forum keep in touch)

the last one more important than the others.

I call people "n00bs" in real lif and use "pwnt" or "owned" alot...

Interestingly enough, after watching all those flame wars and overheated discussions, I've learned a lot about the art of debate; specifically, just how often people go point-by-point, quote-by-quote in an endless cycle of pointpicking.

Naturally I'd never engage in such behavior.

I'm not referring to that specifically, though it's an (perhaps the latest) example.

It reminds me to be methodical and walk a full 360 before making a statement, which I guess is a good thing. Because on the internet, the opponent is usually ravenous and will eat your relatives if the need arises.

not so much a habit but a cure.. I suffer from 'Tourettes Syndrome' which can cause me to be well an obnoxious git..
I'd have to say the cure started here as this is more or less where I started on the net. I've noticed even offline now I swear a lot less and far less confrontational and aggressive.
It was the reason for banning swearing at my own place and find that has helped a lot as well..

But credit has to go to winamp for the start of all that...

Consider me a freak among you "normal" people but I am able to distinguish the difference between the internet and real life.

Thanks to the Brits/Irish/Scottish/Aussie's, I say "bloody" quite a bit in RL now. And then the other day, at another forum, I actually typed, "well, I can't be arsed to do it" which I've always seen as a British saying. I probably used it in the wrong context, but, yeah.

And I actually use "noob" in conversations, too.

And like dlink, my spelling of certain words are changing, besides, someone's trying to convert me to Aussie speak.

I don't think I've picked up any mannerisms from the forums that I use anywhere but the forums. I might have said "pwned" in an IM once...
