I am a lucky bastard. Check out my old vs. new computer.

Ok, I have NEVER had 2 computers in our house that ran at once before until now, so I just started thinking about how lucky I am.

I had sold our old "family" computer to my uncle, I went over there Today. Here are its specs. This is, keep in mind, the computer that was shared by 3 people to browse and everything a little over 1 year ago.
---HP Pavilion 7125---
166 mhz Pentium Processor *with mmx technology* lol
1 MB video card
16 MB RAM, upgraded to 80 MB
4x CD ROM
15 inch HP monitor, and speakers and such

Paid 100 bucks flat. Never had a problem out of it.
---HP Pavilion 513x---
Holy crap. We got a steal on our next family computer:
1400 mhz AMD Athlon 1700+
32 MB video card
256 mb (shared with video card) RAM
52x 32x CDRW
17 inch pavilion mx70 monitor, speakers, keyboard, mouse (it all matches the case :P)

Paid $200 because they didn't know how to remove the blaster worm from it.

And then, after having that wonderful piece of machine, someone donated this machine for my station to run on:

---Compaq Presario 5000 Series---
700 mhz Pentium 3 processor
11 MB video card
128 mb ram, I upgraded to 256 (not shared with vid card) :P
Crappy CDROM, Crappy CD-RW, im replacing both when i get money
No monitor
mouse, keyboard.

That's amazing to me, I'm blessed.

What are you guys blessed with having, and what is your story of how you got it (besides "went to the store and bought the parts" :P )

sorry if this is a dumb thread, but im happy this morning.

When I was 8 I got a Mega Drive (Genesis), 2 Pads and 5 games including sonic and NBA Jam for nothing from someone who lived down the road. Most generous offering I've ever received.

2ghz Intel Celeron
512megs RAM
32gig master HDD, 74.5gig slave HDD
48x CD-RW drive, 52x CD-ROM drive
SoundBlaster Audigy 2
Other usual stuff like...
17" CTX monitor
3.5" floppy drive (duh)
External USB 250 Zip drive
HP multimedia keyboard
MS Intellimouse
Windows XP Home

I've got four other working computers in my room, but they're not hooked up at the moment.

HP Pavilion 6735 minitower...

633mhz Intel Celeron
512megs RAM
15gig master HDD, 30gig slave HDD
DVD-ROM drive (with decoder card)
Internal Zip 250 drive
3dfx Voodoo 3 3000 PCI
Soundblaster Live 5.1
3.5" floppy drive

Packard Bell PB2100 tower...

233mhz Intel Pentium
96megs RAM
30gig HDD (I think)
32x CD-ROM drive
24x CD-RW drive
3dfx Voodoo 3 2000 PCI
2 3.5" floppy drives
Windows 98se

Packard Bell Legend 232 desktop...

133mhz Intel compatible (originally came with a 33mhz Intel)
32megs RAM (I think, maybe 16)
3gig master HDD (I think)
24x CD-ROM drive
Soundblaster 16 (I think, not sure)
3.5" floppy drive
Windows 95

Compaq Proliant 4500 server tower...

I don't really know the specs on this computer because I've never hooked it up. It was given to me several months ago. I do know that it's got 2 Intel processors (probably Pentium 100mhz), and 64megs of RAM. It's also got four 9gig HDDs (RAID 0, I believe). It's got a CD-ROM drive, but I don't know how fast. Probably 16x or lower. Also a 3.5" floppy drive.

The thing I'm blessed with isn't a thing at all. It's a person.

Possibly. But in our home network (I didn't list my dad's two computers in my list above), we don't need a router. My dad's got one of his set up as the server, and we each have another computer connected to it.

My Mega Drive is still the newest console I own. Before that I had a Master System, but soon after that we got our first computer so I basically switched to computers.

And the Mega Drive is still great, I play it with my 7-year-old cousin.
