July 4th Horrors.

2 things my middle son had to witness.

1. these teens were down by the railroad tracks with everyone else to light the fireworks off. i guess the teens thought it would be funny to hide in the bushes and set theirs off. one of the teens light his roman candle and pointed it at a 5 or 6 year old boy down at the tracks with his parents.the balls headed towards the boy.one ball hit the boy in the arm and caught his shirt on fire. frantically, the boy ran around histerically as the father tryed to catch him to put the flames out. the boy tripped on a track, fell and smashed open his forehead.thankfully the kid that did this was caught and sent to jail.

2. a teen was setting off mortors. the last one he was gong to hold in his hand, light it,then drop it in the tube. my son told him "don't dude, thants stupid". the kid did it anyway and the fuse lite so fast that he was still holding the mortor when it blew. his hand was nothing but a nub. my son was about 30 feet away and was sprayed with parts of the kids hand.the fire department came(my bro-in-law was the one who responded) quickly took my son to the ambulance and cleaned him up.

and as my husband was one the phone with his friend Gary that lives in the next town over,Gary was on his front porch and watched the neighbor boy of 14 get run over by a car. the car never slowed down or stopped. it was so quick,Gary never saw it coming.

people now a days think the fourth of july is all about fireworks,BBQ's and beer.its not independence day.... its a day to get drunk and blow shit up.

squakMix 6th July 2004 07:06

 Holy fuck! MAN! I have never witnessed or KNOWN anyone that anything like this had happend to, or come CLOSE to. Why the fuck would that Stupid asshole want to shoot flaming balls of fire at little childen anyway? Why would that dumb fuck WANT to hold the mortar until it went into the tube anyway!?

Do you notice that all of these Situations are caused by stupid people!? These horribly stupid people shouldnt be trusted with the power/ability to Mangle/mutilate/decapitate/burn other people anywaY!

horse-fly 6th July 2004 07:07

Give an idiot some explosives, and it is bound to happen.

pixiefied 6th July 2004 07:10

yet it happens every year. there are alot of stupid people in this world.

horse-fly 6th July 2004 07:13

I blame the failing public school system.

lostonline 6th July 2004 08:08

 Too many stupid people around

whiteflip 6th July 2004 09:05

I get drunk eat dead meat and blow up explosives needless in a very responsiblie mannar. these other people make me look bad and want to ruin it for us responsible. but me being responsible i realize that i cant have what i want that easy and will respect any laws to protect the stupid and innocent. but still, this is why certain fireworks get banned. people need to learn. they need classes. public schools should teach responsibility with videos.

Boricuaso 6th July 2004 09:48

this is not directed at anyone:

you cant leave every thing to the public school system.

responsible parents try to raise responsible children,if you cant raise your children the right way, thats your fault.

school is to feed you with knowledge, not to raise your child thats done at home.

i know where my kid is at all time and who hes playing with, so theres no way hes going to be setting off, high explosive fire works or doing stupid shit with it cuz i thought him better and if he does deside to play with fireworks "undersupervision of an adult" he knows how to properly use them.

Omega X 6th July 2004 10:03

....Shouldn't this be in the Bitchlist???

Anyway, where in the HELL did that kid get a mortor from!?!?

Plus, this year the Police was on a rampage here in Houston. Anything that looked suspicious of drunken activity was checked on...

Germ 6th July 2004 11:59

No this shouldn't be in the bitch list, Omega X, and it's not really your place to say otherwise. Kids can get ahold of all kinds of things, as you should have realized by now.
Must I remind you of all those school shootings?

Pixified I'm glad you did a good job of raising your son. He obviously knows not to do any of those stupid things.

You have not met some of the children we have around here, have you?

MonKeyRum 6th July 2004 13:12

Stupid just plain stupid, I hope the parents of those kids with the roman candles teach them a lesson like what a foot to the ass feels like.

ElChevelle 6th July 2004 13:25

Darwin.
Gotta weed idiots out somehow ie. holding a mortar shell.

MonKeyRum 6th July 2004 13:43

Suprised he didn't try launching it out of his mouth while he was at it

Woah. I am very glad I wasn't there then.

If in doubt, blame someone else.

Its the parents fault that these people are behaving the way that they do. If the parents had learnt to tell their children the difference between right and wrong, we wouldnt hear of things like this happeneing.

whiteflip 6th July 2004 22:51

still if its up to the parents than the parents should be the punished. up to like age 14 or 16 or so. that way parents will work harder to raise children who arent complete idiots.

pixiefied 6th July 2004 23:54

i still take complete responsibility for my kids actions. but my kids have never done anything like this. i do think its the parents fault for not keeping an eye on their kids during this dangerous holiday.

Raz 7th July 2004 00:01

Kudos pixie for doing a good job as a parent.

The dumbass who blew his hand off i don't care about, but when someone is firing explosives at some other innocent party then it really fucks me off. It is the schools job to educate the children. It is not the schools job to raise your children for you. People need to pull their heads out of their asses and take some fucking responsibility for their kids.

My thoughts exactly.

I'm glad your son wasn't hurt, Pixie. And it's good to know that there are still some responsible parents around these days.

ElChevelle 7th July 2004 02:51

There's a couple of us:)

pixiefied 7th July 2004 03:00

if i wanted my boys hurt... i'd just wring their scrawny lil' necks till they plead and beg for forgiveness :)

MidnightViper88 7th July 2004 03:10

People still like to light fireworks in celebration for our nation's independence some 200 years ago...But no matter what day it is, give an irresponsible person something that's potentially harmful and needless hell will break loose...

Glad that these dumbasses got what they deserve...Jail time and a lost hand should make these people re-think their ways, although your son and those other kids that were on the harming end didn't deserve it anyway the situation was sliced...

My dad raised me responsible enough unlike the parents of those other kids...Hopefully I'll spread the wisdom to my own kids in the future... :)

horse-fly 7th July 2004 04:48

Boycott children!

Coman 7th July 2004 05:05

we used to shoot roman candles at each other  it was fun.

Tarron_D 7th July 2004 06:16

Just recently me and a couple of freinds got a whole pile of bottle rockets and proceeded to shoot them at eachother. It was fun as hell. We split up into teams and had this whole war thing going. I got hit twice, once while the damn thing was exploding. I guess it wasn't too smart, but in the end we had a lot of fun. We never held the rockets as they shot off, we always put them on the ground first, if that counts at all for safety.:D

I am glad though that you are teaching your kids not to mess with fireworks though. They can be dangerous, and I know that if my freinds ever do something too out of hand, I always say something. Glad your kid wasn't hurt too.

whiteflip 7th July 2004 06:21

Yeah I've done that. See what you do is you go to a very large and mostly disurted beach. Take some roman candles and if you feel like getting injured have a roman candle fight. Once the candles are out use them as bottle rocket launchers. If you catch fire their is a lake or ocean very close by. I took a bottle rocket in the face when I tried to make a rocket powered basal wood airplane. Thats something you should try.

Bottle rockets are realtively harmless if you are struck by them and they explode. just stay away from the face. Be like me and wear a paint ball mask or like my friend and his ski goggles.

MidnightViper88 7th July 2004 18:46

This year, we threw M-1000s around just to make you paranoid and scare you...They were loud, but they were weak, since we tried to blow up a dead bird with one of those, but failed at dismembering anything... :p

We didn't throw anything at anyone's faces though...We threw them on the ground and shit and everything was relativly under control with no one getting hurt...Except for the hot-lighter, sparkling-fuse, burnt-thumb incidents... :p

MonKeyRum 7th July 2004 19:16

I had this firework that was called "artillery fire" it was like the regular 4" X 4" X 4" cube shape and luckily I had placed it in a kind of open area cause it started shooting sparks and crap all over the place and making noise. It was probably about a 20 foot diameter circle that this had occurred in.]

That's kind of the drawback to fireworks you never know fully how they are going to react.

horse-fly 7th July 2004 19:20

You do know they will explode.

mark 7th July 2004 19:41

spark shooting kid: pure evil. should do some lenght of time in jail and pay the family of the kid they shot at.

hand knub kid: Ikk, i wouldnt wish that on anyone, no matter how dumb.

kid running over in car bastard: jail time please.
