CPU usage

I'm compressing with VP3, and when 'quick compress' isn't on, the compression takes up nearly all my cpu usage, with it on, NSV takes up ~30% of my usage. Are any of the other vp codecs better with cpu usage? any other ideas of how I can decrease it

[I'm using nsv to capture my webcam]

What settings are you using for the codec? The higher the bitrate and framerate, the more CPU it'll use.

Are you using the resize option. If so, do you have High Quality enabled?

And i still never understand what that 2/2/2 part is, iv'e seen 2/2/2, 2/2/3 (i think) and stuff like that, what does it all MEAN

it's ram timings (latency), the lower the better, and 2/2/2 is about as low as you get for 2100
