here's a noodle-scratcher if ever i saw one!

Now until about 20 minutes ago i wwas running winamp5beta and everything was hunky dory, i have since installed winamp 5.04, and when i loaded up a folder full of mp3s to my playlist something strange has happened.

Quite a number of my mp3s have got track times next to them which seem rather a lot bigger than i last recalled. This never happened before with winamp5beta and it would be nice if i knew why this was happening and a possible way of stopping it.

Oh, and by the way when i click on the track to play it the track time goes back to normal.

Here's a pretty picture for you:

Thanking you muchly for your time,

Are they actually valid/correct/intact files? Do they play correctly?
My brother downloads some shit ass songs why are horribly corrupted and display inacurrate times, but never to that extent.
About the only things I can say/suggest is that make sure you are not running any 3rd-party plug-ins such as the mp3pro plug-ins as they have well documented problems.
If you are not running any 3rd-party plug-ins try a clean install.

i'm not running any third party plug-ins, and the files aren't badly corrupted, some of them i've ripped from cds myself, and none of them used to do this on my old winamp5beta.

A hell of a lot has changed since the old (unsupported) beta versions.

A clean install is recommended.

No expert here, but probably if you check the bitrate, you will find that the tracks that show larger sizes are all VBR (Variable Bitrate) files.

That's been the case with me.

Took a while for me to realize it.

As soon as the playback starts the time returns to the actual time. It has to do with VBR. (Would this qualify as a Bug?)

I had a similar problem a month ago. I wiped my Media Library clean then uploaded all of the files again. The times were fixed.
