Just set mine up today so I'm sharing an ADSL line though a Netgear modem/router/switch/WAP/firewall device thingy. It's pretty damn sweet. No more using my dads PC and its dire dire DIRE trackball mouse!

WAP or WPA? It had better be the latter. If not, that means you have WEP, and then it means you'll have to constantly have a shotgun by your window to blast away any wardrivers.

It takes a lot of captured packets to crack a decent WEP password. if you change it routinely you shouldn't have to worry about war drivers too much. It's the neighbors you should worry about it.

That's if you even give a rats ass.
Remember to change the damn password on the router control panel for god sakes. Change the default SSID and disable SSID broadcasting.

ok, I've disabled the broardcast of the ssid. it's already setup as a wep with a trusted access list and encryption.

hmm, i dont think i use any encryption, i trust my neighbors.

A) Hicks
or
B) Old as hell
