freeze issue on 5.04, considerations
 

well,
I've been using 5.03c,
and managed to make disappear the freeze issue occuring mostly when playing stream radio, applying the patch for the 5.03 version...

well, after installing 5.04, one step back,
the problem reappeared such as the 5.03 unpatched.... :weird:

I checked much posts about it or similar on this forum,
and the relative suggestions,
I did many times the clean installation,
trying to test in how much time the problem would reappear...

no success, then I just thought the easiest way, let's go back to 2.91, the easiest to find,
I re-downloaded it, and installed.

it's almost 5+ hours is going flawlessly...no problems at all :D


so I just share this thought publically:

shouldn't be the software go near the user, and not the opposite?

the fact that an old version works after a install, and the new causes such unpretictable behaviour, is signal of somethin, by the developer point of view.

I just perceive that since the old version is running well, the new version, despite its updated features, has some compatibility issue with the software installed on the different computers, which of course is variable.

moderators do great job helping, and providing solutions, that are however, about this problem, long, and not that easy for a person who hasn't necessarly to go so into deep for makin work a program.

I hope will be resolved in future this thing, also if is not the only one, and is not that easy to make work a software without problems when u spread it worldwide with a such variability of configurations.

anyway here seems not really a variety of configurations problem, since the old version shows up its strenghtness, why this characteristic isn't deliverable on the new one?

why a person has to try to resolve this problem doing sherlok holmes with a degree in informatic engineering when can be avoided with a such simple action?

I'm just talkin about this particular problem, I like the program and used since 2 version.

when this stuff will be resolved I'll return happily to the new version :up:

Over 95% of Winamp 5.04 users don't have this problem. You are in a very small minority.

Provide:
-Full details of the crash/freeze (steps to reproduce)
-Confirmation of a clean installation with no 3rd-party plugins
-System specs
-List of running processes/startup items (HijackThis log)
