IR Remote control
I saw a long time ago a plugin that u could use a IR remote control to control winamp. Just a week ago I bought a TV card, "Fly TV Prime 30" and it has a IR remote control with it. Although I cant find a plugin that supports this particular Remote control for winamp.
Any suggestions on how to make it work, someone? Thanks for your time /Fredde Edit: Sorry, guess this one should have gone into the winamp general discussion |
Hum, actualy I doubt it will work. If its for your TV Card, it will be sending comands to it rather than to the rest of the computer.
Depends on were the ir sencor is connected. Dose it come from the card itself, or plugin to a USB or whatever? (And Welcome to the forum) |
Sadly it's connected to the tv card... It should have a little software running in the background, cause i can start the "tv" with the remote...
Thanks for the welcome :) |
hum, then there may be a way to do it, but alas, you would need sombody to make it for that remote specificaly. (Well at least as Far as I know, sombody will correct me if I'm wrong.)

Too bad I aint got enough programming skills to know where to start to get the signals to a software...
If someone is interested in doing some programing in the topic or help me getting started with the signals, please let me know ;) |
To start out, look in control panel's device list to see if you have a 'new' serial port. If so, then you need to use terminal to open that port, say at 9600 Baud, 8bit,No Parity, One stop and see if anything intelligible comes in when you push a button. If you see something, see what the pattern is for the various buttons - there will be one. If no pattern is evident, or all you see is gibberish, then try different settings on the com port.
You need to get the whole command set BEFORE you eeven think about coding anything. |
Thanks, I'll check that out...
