Remember the SAT?
wow, its been a while now..and i still remember that dreaded test they call SAT. Most of us know what the test is about and a lot of us took it to get into school. I still hate that test, how do you feel about it? I still think its the most BS test ever, that does not tell how intelligent a person is but it does bring out the worse of us. They should stop giving that test....
|
i took the SAT, SATIIs, and the ACT
|
I remember; I scored a 1280. :( I'm taking them again in November.
|
they are adding another section to the SAT, so its out of 2400 (they added grammar + writing) something like that
|
Yeah...i gotta take the new format. Analogies are out (dog is to bird as ....), trig is in as well as an essay.
Fucking essay. |
The changes don't occur until March of 2005, however. Too bad, I'd be much more comfortable with writing essays than solving random analogies.
|
Damn with those changes in place I would have gotten a much higher score. I took the SAT and the ASVAB. 1200 and 71 respectively.
|
I also got a 1280 on the SAT. It's basically a test to see how well you studied vocabulary. I got a 33 on the ACT which i think is a much fairer test.
|
Who the fuck reminisces about taking a fucking test
|
i got a 1560 after a total of 3 study hours :D complete luck.

i never took it and I am about to get my bachelors :)
|
i really suck at analogies...and i actually fell asleep during the test...
and i scored an 1190 :( |
ha, yeah i fell asleep on the test as well. especially when you have to take it at 7am and shit...*never took it and you are doing well* wow, congrats on that one!
|
and you like to think about tests you've already took, why?
|
heh, 29 on ACT = ~1400 on SAT i think?
|
summthing like that. the act is a way better test.
That's because i did better on it. |
I took the ACT in my senior year of high school. I don't remember the ACT score I got, but it was equivalent to an SAT score of 1380.
I also took the ASVAB, and scored a 97%. My recruiter was so excited he nearly pee'd himself. (They're probably rated in their job based on, among other things, the average ASVAB scores of the recruits they bring in.) :) |
I accidently stole one of those asvab tests and the airforce started an investigation on it. Annoyed me for about 3 weeks about it. I couldn't remember what I did with it.
|
I'm surprised they'd care who walked away with a copy of one of them. Not like there's classified information on an ASVAB.
That's funny, though. I assume they didn't arrest you or rough you up over it? |
hah no
nobody fucks with the almighty Germ |

22 on my ACT. Want to take it again, but eh it gets me into college. Friend of mine got a 35 on his ACT and 1550 on his SAT.
|
I actually did pretty ok in my sats got 1510 (or was it 1520) in my sat I, and 2250 for my sat 2 (3 subjects). But got rejected from every college I applied to.
Every. Single. One. But I'm not american and needed major financial aid. So it wasn't exactly unexpected. But its cool. Studying in NUS now. Awesome place.:D |
One guy I knew took the SAT 5 times. The first time he got an 1100 something and the last time he got a 1540. If I took it that many times I'm sure I would have gotten near 1600. Which is why students should be limited to the number of times they can take the test.
I don't think the SAT's are a fair way to gauge college potential. ACT's seem better but having a standardized test being a determining factor in getting into a good school doesn't seem right, even if its only 1/4 the basis of getting in. |
Good point. The first time I took the SAT (when I was a junior in high school) I got an 1140. Then a couple of years later, I got a 1380 (ACT equivalent).
I might have gotten over 1500 if I tried it once or twice more. I agree, they should put a three-test limit on it, or something like that. |

i thought of this thread bc i saw that movie "the perfect score" where highschool kids went into the testing place and stole the SATs answers....DUH, to bad i didnt think of that when i was in highschool |
Anyone heard of the International Baccalaureate? It rules. You can get into universities all over the globe. Except the States, where you have to take SATs as well. I did an SAT for fun once (I was helping a friend study for them), and I thought they were a load of rubbish. They're piss easy questions, but the exams are hard because they give you so little time. So it tests you on speed, which is good, but not ability.
