Trying to figure out the genre
 

Hey....I have some alanis morrissette albums that I'm trying to tag and am unsure how to tag it for the genre. Would it be rock? Certainly not pop. I have looked on amazon and towerrecords and can't seem to find any info.

What would you classify her as?

Like spaceplay said All Music will give you a reasonable answer. I don't particularly care about genre, I just listen to what I like and what I'm in the mood for but if I do use genre I use very broad things such as rock.

Espically you jones, so much for mods being helpful and the like, i don't think comments like that are exactly helpful, so what if he likes an artist who you find total shit, it doesn't mean you have to express your totally usless opinion in a thread where all he was asking for was a genre classification.

clasify her as whatever the hell you want, perosnally i don't classify my music in genres, wayyy too much effort to try and figure out

this is called freedom of speech, and if you read the whole thread you must agree that some humour never killed anybody.
besides that, why can't a mod have an opinion on something? it wasn't exactly that the threadstarter asked for something important.

hmm you have a point, sorry about going off like that, and to Mr Jones as well, I know it was just a joke but still. Just when a bunch of people gang up on one member because they like an artist or some other mior detail about them that others find odd. you talk about freedom of speech, so i don't see why because he likes alanis morrissette that means people can discriminate agaisnt him for that.

anyway, i don't think i'm in the best mood tonight, so yeah i apolagise again for acting like an ass
