J-Pop, J-Rock?
Who likes it?
I like Utada Hikaru, Ayumi Hamasaki as far as J-Pop goes. As for J-Rock I like The Pillows, L'Arc En Ciel.... Also Yoko Kanno but her compositions aren't really J-Pop... Totally different. |
X Japan Rock.
|
they friggin do!
also dir en grey :D and the lesser known Stance Punks, Maximum the Hormone and FLOW |
There's only a few things originating from over there I'm interested in. One starts with an H and one starts with a B :p
|
THE PILLOWS!! WOOO :D unsurprisingly enough, go into them through Furi Kuri. they rock!
|
I've got a brother who lives in Japan & he plays Japanese stuff for me sometimes. Halcali & Yukari Fresh are good cheerleader-synthpop & Kiseru reminds me of Iron and Wine in a good way. I'll see if he has any Utada Hikaru or Ayumi Hamasaki.

What the hell is J pop and J-Rock?
Sorry, old fart - don't know some of this international stuff, lol. |
J: Japaneese
They have music too. It's good. |
Ok, that's what I thought it was.
|
I'm really starting to get into Utada Hikaru, she's cool :)
|
I prefer Jrock myself. X Japan, Asian Kung-fu Generation, L'arc En Ciel, Dir En Grey, and Luna Sea, but now I dont listen to it anymore.
|
Megumi Hayshibara...She's done songs for many anime titles...Nice voice...
I don't understand a damn thing since I don't take up Japanese, but to my ears, it sounds a hell of alot better than much of the American pop that pollutes the airwaves... :D Yui Horie is also another good J-Pop singer... |
^_^
Huge fan of Ayumi Hamasaki, Megumi Hayashibara, Initial D, Para Para Paradise, The Excel Girls*, and many more. ^_^ I love J-pop. Fun stuff. ^_^
*Someone snatched this CD right when I was about to buy it... |
...:igor:
I don't know about anyone else, but I wouldn't touch that cd if there weren't boobs on the cover :D |
If you heard some of their songs, you might like them. ;)
