Last Played Date observation

I've noticed that winamp will update the lastplayeddate field when a song starts playing but the ipod will not update it until the song is finished. It's not really a big deal and obviously an ipod quirk and not due to ml_ipod or winamp.

So if a song starts on the ipod in that playlist and you skip to the next track before the song is over, the ipod doesn't register that the song was played.

Just an observation if anyone is interested.

Actually, after messing about with this a bit more, I may have found a bug for songs with no lastplayed date.

First, I synced ml_ipod with the ipod. Then I chose a song which had an EMPTY FIELD for lastplayed in winamp and on the ipod. I then ejected the ipod and played that song on the ipod to completion. Then I reconnected the ipod to the PC. The lastplayed date on the ipod showed today's date, but in winamp it was blank. Synced and smart synced again, now both lastplayed dates are blank again.

Updating of the lastplayed date does seem normal for songs with a filled lastplayed date however.

I've noticed the same for the ratings. The problem is with the "Smart Sync" function which obviously does not perform quite as it should. So now I use "Copy Play Counts and Ratings from Ipod to Winamp" and do all the rating (and playing ;)) on the device.

Does that transfer last played date from the ipod as well if the date was previously blank in winamp?

I think it overwrites the playtime in Winamp regardless of whether it was blank or not (not 100% sure though).

Not by my observation. If there is a date present in the ipod and in winamp, syncing will cause the most recent date to appear in both. If winamp date is blank and the ipod date isn't, however, syncing causes the ipod date to become blank again instead of updating the winamp date which is what it SHOULD do.
