Crash and iPod DB wipe on sync. Eject also nonfunctional.
Winamp Pro 5.05
ml_ipod 1.11a MacDrive 5.0.14 When I try to do a sync, I get complete Winamp hangs and have to kill the winamp process or pull the iPod. This results in my iPod thinking there is only one song on it so the DB is obviously getting messed up. I then have to completely start from scratch with my other, less-preferable aoftware. Also, Eject is non-functional for me. Is ml_ipod not compatible with MacDrive perhaps? I could find no posts referring to this. If so I will reformat as a windows one as ml_ipod is just fantastic :) |
iPod is a 20Gb 2nd gen
|
probably best to reformat as windows.
the MacOS supports the windows filesystems anyway - a windows ipod works just fine on a mac. |
I think I will try that later today then. I shall post my experience with ml_ipod after the switch...
|
Well I formatted it for windows using the apple updater, after uninstalling my xplay, ephpod and macdrive. Now the iPod is not recognized by ml_ipod in winamp. I see people recommend using the updater from apple to fix this, but I have already done this.
Any suggestions? |
Like others have suggested I installed iTunes and ran it. It first of all asked for me to name my iPod, so it obviously detected that the installation wasn't complete. Then I simply exited without doing another thing in iTunes.
I then fired up Winamp and the iPod is now detected, so whatever iTunes did worked. It is now syncing up my library, and I hope it will work, but I thought I would post now incase someone replied to my last post. |
Yep all works great!
I am new to these forums and did search for my problem, but in case others have the same behaviour: - Get rid of MacDrive - Use Apple Installer to format as Windows iPod - Use iTunes once to finalize the installation |
