Winamp 5.05 CD Audio Skips

I'm trying to play audio cds in version 5.05 on XP Service Pack 2, and I'm getting extremely choppy playback. It's particularly bad when the CPU is accessed for anything.

I don't remember this being an issue in earlier versions of Winamp. It has always been a problem for Windows Media Player if you selected "digital" playback versus "analog".

How can I rectify the poor playback issue? :igor:

You can disable digital audio extraction under Preferences > Plug-Ins > Input > Nullsoft CD/LineIn plug-in.
