Dammit. monitor problem

Okay, so today I realized I have 4 computers and 2 monitors, so I went down to the computer store and they had a crapload of compaq monitors that they got from a hospital I think they said.

I picked out the best looking one, 17 inch compaq v75, nice change from a 8 year old 14 inch dell ;)

So anyways I've noticed a few things..

1st, when I turn the computer on and it switches from bios screen to windows loading screen, there's a brief second where the screen should be black but it has a green line in the center.

Also, when you turn it off, there are a few seconds of blue and green colors in the center.

is this burn in? should I exchange it?

Dude, if it's a burn-in, it's not going to appear in a screenshot, lol.

I'm monitor dumb..

It's really not showing in screenshots, but like on some sites, grey appears as gold, blue appears as grey, it's just not normal.

Plus the weird colors when you turn it off.

Shit. It does have a burnin as well, which reads:
"To extend the healing of the ministry of jesus christ"

If the picture's ok apart from the turn on/turn off anomalies, i wouldnt worry too much about it. If it's not, return it.

How often are you using these additional pc's? If you're using them fairly often, it might be a good idea to grab a kvm and have them hooked up to one monitor/mouse/keyboard, with you main use pc hooked up to the other. That'll save power and space.

If you're not using them that often, another option is to run them headless and control them via vnc. I reccomend realvnc, but there are others that are worth checking out. It wont give you the same sort of fucntionality that a kvm will, but it doesnt cost anything either.

Genious, I'll look into VNC!

I have 3 computers, 2 of which are on nearly 24/7 being used, 1 near that, and 1 more in the mail :p

I'm going to look into vnc for the newest computer I'm getting, I actually think my other 3 would need monitors, giving one to my mom and one to my brother to use.
