The end?

Well, it seems like Nullsoft is winding down into obscurity, AOL looks like they are going to discontinue Winamp for good (probly not right away, but it will happen sooner or later), along with it will go the forums most likely, and with that I shall make my final post.

It's been a wild and fun 4 years, I still remember and even talk to some of the original members from back then, but they have already moved onto other commnuities as will I.

These forums will not die quickly, I know they wont, there are many people still here making sure this place is still as fun as it has been. But now that Nullsoft is gone, who knows how long it will last.

Nothing good really lasts forever, especially int he online world, where things change so fast that if you blink you will miss them.

I would like to thank each and every one of the members, the moderation team, the former members, and nullsoft staff that made this place my online home the last 4 years ^^

R.I.P. Nullsoft

Jesus, calm down.

The story started because all the ORGINAL nullsoft members are gone, but there still is one winamp coder, one web developer and one shoutcast coder.

for an idealist, Their reasons for quitting Nullsoft/AOL are good enough as reasons for not using winamp anymore. But still what other alternatives are there?

bad, bad, noughty world! why does things like these happen?!

OMG if that's so i'd better stop developing and make my own player and remove all things winamp from my pc and destroy everything i've ever made since there's no point anymore, like OMaGawd!!!

Personally, im using winamp still, but only until an alternative to AVS comes around ;)

Hold your horses.

the sonique player never realy was there yet the forums are still around.

winamp shall live on forever.
(even if it means moving the forums elsewhere)

No, because slashdot is quoting betanews, which is quoting Darrah, and Darrah's post, while actually reading as if AOL have closed up shop specifies nothing of the sort. His post says that Justin, Steve and Tom have quit, which we all already knew.
