Wow, first I'm gonna... wait, we don't have thanksgiving in Britain. Just a regular day for us. (For some reason I had the impression thanksgiving was always on a Sunday).

Should be interesting this year, as it's the hubby's first Thanksgiving. Happy turkey day, everyone!

"They always say you gain weight during the holidays, but I loose weight because its the only day of the year I eat turkey instead of pizza and ribs." -Jimmy Kimmel |
pizza sounds good right about now. but then there are pies that need to be eaten as well. i'm getting hungry.
|
I just ate pizza. We are going to have our turkey dinner tomorrow. Everyone got too busy to cook today.

i think i should have eaten breakfast and lunch.
|
I went to my Grandparent's house for lunch and we had a turkey dinner.
 |
Yum, Turkey. My lemon-butter-basil green beans were pretty good, except that there wasn't any lemon or basil to use, so I wound up making grapefruit-butter green beans. I'm going to have to fire the shopper. :D

The day after christmas. You get two holidays consecutive.

|
There's a lot of Boxing.

Quote:
The day after Christmas, the Feast of St. Stephen, the first Christian martyr, is better known as Boxing Day. The term may come from the opening of church poor boxes that day; maybe from the earthenware boxes with which boy apprentices collected money at the doors of their masters' clients. Nowadays, we often see, in certain families, gifts (boxes) given to those who provide services throughout the year. "Boxing Day" is listed in the Canada Labour Code as a holiday. At one time it was a day in which gifts were returned to the stores..IE: items that didn't fit, or were not wanted for some reason. Today, it still remains a civic holiday, but retailers also have the day off. |
We'll put up TREE December 1st.
on the forums! I love this time of year!:D |
