Holiday Gifts

Ok so who are you all getting gifts for? What are you getting them and who is the hardest person to get a gift for? What is the worst gift you've gotten and best and yeah. Anything about holiday gift giving and recieving.

And lets not all forget what we would like to recieve ourselves :)

deeder7001 29th November 2004 06:02

i either want a few cds or about $300 so i can build a computer.

simon snowflake 29th November 2004 06:20

$300 for a computer? what will that be a 486 DX 2? ;p

If i wrote it down here, and my brother bumps on this thread, he would know what I would give my family.

But i would like world peace. And if that is not possible I would like Bush to stepdown. (or is that the same as world peace)

the specs would be something like an AMD 2400+ 512mb PC 2700 and cheap video, MB and case w/400 watt PSU. all under $300 after taxes and shipping.

Phyltre 29th November 2004 15:52

I bought my girlfriend a wooden practice sword and a copy of the Katamari Damacy soundtrack (imported from Japan!)

Psythik 29th November 2004 16:33

A few items on my Christmas list:

I'm not quite sure what I'm going to get my family yet; I'm kinda low on cash at the moment...

Re: Holiday Gifts

Q. who are you all getting gifts for?
A.My kids and mah hunneh

Q.What are you getting them?
A.stocking stuffers,gift cards.
(mah hunneh's is a surprise)

Q.who is the hardest person to get a gift for?
A.My daughter! she's at that age were she dont know what she wants.

Q.What is the worst gift you've gotten?
A.none. I've always bought my own gifts.

Since the kids are older,im not to into holidays anymore. We never did anything for Valentines.Halloween
used to be fun, taking the kids out trick or treating, now they go out with their friends while i stay home or sit in the bar.Same with Christmas. The kids would rather have gift cards to spend at the mall.

Wolfgang 29th November 2004 17:10

I want a remote controlled aeroplane kit and an electric shaver. The Bush administration vanishing overnight would also be a pretty decent present.
I have no idea what I'm giving anyone. I am the worst at getting people presents.

Santa has failed you... :p

All I'm really asking for are gift certificates and cash...Maybe a game or so, like Need For Speed Underground for the PS2...

Otherwise, not much...But most especially cash, since I wanna get stuff for my Mustang...

LollipopLustKil 29th November 2004 22:23

Who are you all getting gifts for?
- My girlfriend
- Best friend

What are you getting them?
- Not sure yet
- Not sure yet

Who is the hardest person to get a gift for?
- My best friend, can't find out what she wants.

What I want:
- Drum set

Widdykats 29th November 2004 22:46

Got my wish! Thanks Jones!:D

k_rock923 29th November 2004 22:53

I don't know what to get my girlfriend. I can't buy her jewlery again.

Mattress 29th November 2004 23:08

Who I'm getting gifts for:
- Mom and Dad
- Anne, my fiancee
- my sister
- her fiancee
- Anne's mom and dad
- Anne's brother
- my friends Dan, Brian, Nick
- my aunt, my uncle probably just cards for them

I'm not quite sure what I'm going to get anyone yet

Phyltre 30th November 2004 02:39

Oh, and I got myself those titanium chopsticks, dunno if that counts...

I'm also getting GTA: San Andreas for my dad, an "Ah! My Goddess" wallscroll for my GF (she's spoiled now), and something Univ. Of S.C. related for my Mom (maybe a panoramic poster for her wall at work.)

whiteflip 30th November 2004 02:48

Allright. Who I am getting gifts for and what

Mom - Some pimp headphones for her CD player she uses at work
Dad - iRobot book(s) and movies based on book(s)
Brother - tools
Brother's wife - I dunno, Coffee?
Sister - Sponge bob arcade stick
Aunt - power tools
Uncle - assorted meats and cheeses
Cousin - Car (not a toy car this time)
Cousin - Something classic remade for XBoX
Cousin - Girly toys, recorder (like a flute)
Nephew - Namco Arcade for GC
Nephew - Soft nosieless baby stuff and a tamborine
Friend - mini keg
Myself - 800 watt power inverter :p

I'm not to big on gift certificates. It is retarded money really. You can only use it at one place and if you don't use it after a time it disapears.

sgtfuzzbubble011 30th November 2004 03:40

I won't be able to afford gifts for all my family this year, but there are a couple gifts I'll be giving. My dad keeps telling me not to get him anything, so I'll probably see if I can at least take him to dinner or something like that. Spending time with him is gift enough for me. I'd like to get something for my sister, but I really don't know what she wants or if I can really afford much. My mom told me what she wanted, so I'll get it for her (a small trimmer; don't ask :p). And for my sweetie, I'll be getting one gift and making another gift for her. The gift I'm getting her is a practical gift, even though I doubt she'll even use it... (you better use it. :p) And the one I'll be making isn't anything major, but it's just a little something to show her how much I love her. :) (Sorry, but you're going to have to wait until we get back down here before you get your gifts, baby. :))

pixiefied 30th November 2004 09:06

your a shit :p

missyob 30th November 2004 11:55

I want some beds for my boys and some candles for myself.

The rest I will post later.

~ Missy

d0rk 30th November 2004 18:45

Various friends - Various CDs, books, gift cards, me :D
Parents - Something I can find in the mall that looks useful/I know they will use
Siblins - Same as parents.

ShyShy 30th November 2004 20:32

@Pixie: I think he would be happy to just see you nekked on his bed wearing a Santa Claus hat. :D:up:

For my family, I wish I could have my brother-in-law home for Xmas. The hubby and I both wish for jobs, and we were able to get the rugrat a couple of gifts. We're lucky that she's not too materialistic and is very happy with whatever you get her. Except for GI Joe's, those are for boys only. Oh yeah, I'll probably be baking banana, applesauce, and zucchini breads for the relatives that like them.

SSJ4 Gogitta 30th November 2004 21:02

I want one of these, but not a $9,000 one.

I'd probably suggest you two have some Keiichi/Belldandy cosplay/sex thing going on, but that'd may be too weird for you and your girlfriend, so I'll refrain from properly doing so... :p

Indeed. :D

Matter of fact, I'll pick one up after we all meet up for lunch when I get to Washington... Or, I might even get it before I get there. Wonder if I'll get a bunch of strange looks from wearing a Santa hat on the plane. :p

Phyltre 1st December 2004 03:09

MidnightViper88, you may be shocked to know that I have in fact drawn Skuld's oval on my GF's forehead before.

I took pictures, maybe I can scan them in later.

My daughter of course will be getting her usual $2500.00 cash.

I'll stick with my assortment of pocket knives and zippo's :). That blade is like 2 inches at best. So tiny. I guess it would be good for utility. Like opening a box or a letter. And if you can't get it open you can burn it :p

Now that's a neat idea! . . . Yeah, it's a pretty small blade . . . I believe it's more of a novelty item/conversation piece than a practical instrument . . . although it's interesting when giving someone a light to watch their reaction when a blade pops out instead of the flame.

sgtfuzzbubble011 5th December 2004 13:11

I'd never ask you for a light. You might chop my cigarette in half. :P

jerimiah40 5th December 2004 20:13

My sister and I saved up some money together, add that to the money that our parents give us to buy christmas presents each year, we have 50 bucks to spend on presents!

Who I'm getting presents for -
My mom
My dad
My grandma
My aunt
My uncle
My sister (saved up a little money on my own)

What I'm getting them -
My mom - Undisclosed Info
My dad - Undisclosed Info
My grandma, aunt, and uncle - probably going to make something
My sister - No idea, whatever I have enough money for probably

whiteflip 6th December 2004 00:30

Wow tight budget. Good luck with that.

Syth, I'd suggest getting a 128mb version. The extra ram doesnt help that much for how much it costs. Should free up some cash for your family :)

Since it's for a laptop, I can only get the card directly from DELL, and that's the only graphics card update available. I'll probably just end up sticking with my 128MB 9700 anyhow...

Yes, girlfriends can be really hard to shop for. Last year, a greatide came to me in the middle of october and I was set. This year, no such luck.

Phyltre 6th December 2004 01:04

eBay is FULL of things for girlfriends, they've been very helpful this year.

For gamer-girls, try PlayAsia.com...they have LOTS of that kind of stuff, and also Japanese kitsch which is getting more and more popular these days with both sexes.

And while you're at PlayAsia.com, I have the ultimate gift for a gamer's girlfriend:

Ultimate Gamer's Girlfriend Gift Of The Millenium!!!
