MP3 Jukebox

I read an article somewhere that talked about a MP3\CD player that takes up the full screen, allows you to program playlists by adding songs, but also locks the rest of the computer, so that the only thing that can be open is that program. Does anyone know of a program or Winamp Plugin that can do this?

Sorry if I'm not explaining myself very well

You find this desirable?

For parties, I could understand

Wait, I've seen somehting like this. This guy ripped out the innards of an old hi-fi. Put in a mini-PC with an LCD, made a winamp skin matching the front of the hi-fi, and used it as an mp3 player for his kitchen.

I'm sorry, I wuz kinda pressed for time when I wrote that, but I'll explain a little bit better now.

I want a program that will just play music, and allow me to use it as a jukebox, but nothing else

For parties, this is very useful as people can enque any songs that they want, but not do anything else with the computer.

Spazz, u hit the nail on the head with that one. Hit and sink! Thats exactly what i wuz looking for.

Ryan, not so much 4 u. I was looking for a program for my computer, not a free-standing hardware MP3 player.

Now, to see if it works.....

Windows Media player has a Party Mode with "Plus! Digital Media Edition", which I believe does everything you want.

jerimiah40 3rd December 2004 22:36

What version of Windows Media Player do you need to do that?

Phyltre 6th December 2004 00:44

Ummm...

good question. I'm pretty sure than versions before XP have something like it, but I've only used it on my XP box, so I can't say for sure.

By the way, has anyone else ever used the kind-of-strange dancers that XP Plus! Digital Media Edition comes with? I've come to the conclusion that they're utterly useless, and that probably five people total have used them before.
