Help with Siemens Speedstream 2604 router.

I got a new printer, and I am trying to get my print switch built into the router to work...

I've installed the printer port drivers that came with my router, but when I try to print, an error comes up and says:

Printserver is occupied by another job, windows will retry every 5 seconds.

I'm not printing anything else, what could be the problem?

I don't have any firewalls on, just the one on the router itself.

thanks for any help

Well, somehow, the printer still thinks that it has a job to perform. I take it that this is not a network printer and is a printer that you have used for a while. If you want to share a printer, then I would suggest using the Printer on your computer and then sharing it via Windows over a network. But first things first, unplug the printer from its power source. Wait about 30 Secs and then plug it back in, and try it again. If it still gives the error, then it may be something with your drivers and see if there are updated drivers on Siemens Website. If you can't find any (believe me, Siemens dropped their SpeedStream section of the website and it now requires a google search), then try the Sharing Via Windows over the network.

Thanks Duane. This wednesday when I can drop my encoders for the station I'm going to try restarting the router with the printer plugged into it as well. Hopefully that will work :-/

It might ... but restarting the router may lose all of your settings, so be careful.

I read: Help with Semens Speedstream 2604 router.

Yeah, I did that when I first got the router. I called tech support and read it wrong. :(

Update: Argh. Router restart did not help.

I can't set it up through sharing through windows because i use the XP firewalls, and the network is inaccessible when they are enabled.

Screenshot of settings :(
