I want my shoutcast server to relay my Icecast server. How ??
 

Hello, Fellows,

I run 2 streams on a Hosting company: one stream for Shoutcast and another for Icecast. So, I have to broadcast from my place two streams to these servers.

I'd like to know how I could configure shoutcast server to relay from the Icecast server, so that I could send one only stream.

Any help is welcomed.

You can't - they are different systems, however you might be able to use a stream transcoder. You can download this at www.oddsock.org

So why we can relay Icecast and Shoutcast on PEERCAST without transcoding?

you are trying to compare oranges with apples.

shoutcast --> encodes to mp3
icecast --> encodes to ogg.vobis

peercast --> doesn't encode just relays anything that comes through this.

So, I have another question:

Can I run a peercast MP3 station on my machine and relay it with my new SHOUTCAST Hosting service ?
And run an .Ogg Peercast stream and relay with my new Icecast Hosting service ?

This configuration would let more listeners, since when normal Slots become FULL, I would have the Peercast slots available.

What do you think ?

icecast and shoutcast dont encode at all.
allso icecast2 streams mp3, vorbis and aac
