It's snowing

God, I don't feel like making this topic...I feel like the retards at school that get all giddly when it starts to snow like they've never seen snow in their entire life before, especially when it's only light flurries that barely break a centimeter in accumilation...

BUT it's snowing here in Louisville, KY...25 degrees F right now, and with the wind chill, it feels like 15...I've always said that if it's gonna be this damn cold, it'd better snow at least, and it is, although it's not much at all...

Funny how towards the end of November and the beginning of December, there were a few days where it shot up to 70...

Schmeet 19th December 2004 15:28

Snowwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :P

I wish it snowed here :( Normally we just get wet sludge that looks like snow.

mark 19th December 2004 15:45

Talbain 19th December 2004 15:46

Timbaland 19th December 2004 15:57

Awesome, I guess its gonna snow here today, we live close..Im in the metro Nashville area, news says today its gonna be 19 degrees and get colder all day, until about 2 degrees at night.

I cant wait, gonna burn a few and make snow penises!!

ShyShy 19th December 2004 17:04

Probably won't snow here in Washington (at lower levels) until next month. We've been talking about taking a short trip up to the mountains for the day and play in the snow. Hubby has never seen it.

I went climbing mountains in the lake district this weekend. There was tons of snow there - but I feel chilled to the bone now!

mysterious_w 19th December 2004 18:23

No snow where I am, at least according to the BBC 5-day forecast.

Ok Mr. Scroge. Take part in the fun. It only snows for a small portion of the year. You can always move to Mexico.

I had a friend who emigrated from Mexico and saw snow for the first time about two years ago. He was giddy for the first week of it and pissed as he caught a cold for the first time in his life.

jakeledel 19th December 2004 21:29

psh. it's 10 degrees here and it feels like -8. and we have lots of snow. love cleveland!

beanboy89 19th December 2004 21:40

I'd rather move to Southern California...It still snows there too... :p

aurorarose237 19th December 2004 23:15

Up here in Central New York we've got about 3-4 inches of snow and it was crappy today. Tomorrow it's supposed to be 8°F but with wind chill its supposed to feel below zero. I like the snow and all but I hate the cold.

protegechris 20th December 2004 01:23

Heh. Speaking of it being cold and then warm..

[edit]I just found this... You know it's going to be cold if the NWS puts an alert like this:
Quote:

Severe Weather Alert from the National Weather Service
...ADAMS PA-BEDFORD PA-BLAIR PA-CAMBRIA PA-CAMERON PA-CLEARFIELD PA- COLUMBIA PA-CUMBERLAND PA-DAUPHIN PA-ELK PA-FRANKLIN PA-FULTON PA- HUNTINGDON PA-JUNIATA PA-LANCASTER PA-LEBANON PA-MCKEAN PA- MIFFLIN PA-MONTOUR PA-NORTHERN CENTRE PA-NORTHERN CLINTON PA- NORTHERN LYCOMING PA-NORTHUMBERLAND PA-PERRY PA-POTTER PA- SCHUYLKILL PA-SNYDER PA-SOMERSET PA-SOUTHERN CENTRE PA- SOUTHERN CLINTON PA-SOUTHERN LYCOMING PA-SULLIVAN PA-TIOGA PA- UNION PA-WARREN PA-YORK PA- 244 PM EST SUN DEC 19 2004

... SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT...

... BIG TEMPERATURE CHANGES ON THE WAY...

AN ARCTIC COLD FRONT WILL MOVE EAST OF THE REGION BY EVENING... ACCOMPANIED BY SNOW SHOWERS AND EMBEDDED HEAVIER SQUALLS. LESS THAN AN INCH OF ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED OVER MOST OF CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA ON AVERAGE. HOWEVER... THE NORTHWEST MOUNTAINS AND LAUREL HIGHLANDS COULD SEE A FEW INCHES OF SNOW IN SOME AREAS.

ADDITIONAL SNOW SHOWERS WILL PERSIST IN THE WAKE OF THE FRONT OVERNIGHT... WITH THE HEAVIEST EXPECTED ACROSS THE TRADITIONAL SNOW BELT AREAS OF WARREN AND MCKEAN COUNTIES... AS WELL AS ON THE WEST FACING RIDGES OF THE LAUREL HIGHLANDS. SOME OF THESE AREAS COULD RECEIVE UP TO SEVERAL INCHES OF NEW BEFORE MONDAY MORNING. THE SNOW... COMBINED WITH BRISK WINDS... WILL REDUCE VISIBILITIES... AND CREATE LOCALLY HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS.

BITTERLY COLD AIR WILL FLOW INTO CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA IN THE WAKE OF THIS FRONT FOR TONIGHT AND MONDAY. THE COLD AIR... COMBINED WITH GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS... WILL PRODUCE WIND CHILLS AS LOW AS ZERO DEGREES ACROSS THE LOWER AND MID SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY... BETWEEN ZERO AND 5 BELOW ZERO ACROSS THE CENTRAL RIDGE AND VALLEY AREAS... AND AS LOW AS 5 TO 15 BELOW ZERO ACROSS THE LAUREL HIGHLANDS AND NORTHWEST MOUNTAINS BY MONDAY MORNING. THOSE PLANNING TO BE OUTDOORS MONDAY MORNING SHOULD BE PREPARED TO ENCOUNTER BITTERLY COLD CONDITIONS... AND SHOULD MINIMIZE THE EFFECTS OF THE COLD BY WEARING SEVERAL LAYERS OF CLOTHING....

Well, damn...It was snowing this morning, and we got about (My guess) 2" of accumulation...A good amount of snow to make everything a blinding white...

This was the radar for 7:50 PM EST...It's obvious from this that a cold front is in the presense, and just blazed past us from then, and it looks like we're gonna be covered in snow once more...Temperature right now is 27°F, feels like 16°F...

I hate snowtime in Louisville...Damn city over-overreacts and dumps 50-thousand pounds of salt for a 1-mile strip 2-lane road...It's rediculous...

hgnis 23rd December 2004 13:47

23 here....expect things to start falling from the sky veeeeeery soon.

Some effects of 22.9 inches of snow from the 2004 snowstorm.

MidnightViper88 25th December 2004 02:15

1 foot of snow here in Louisville, and over 3/4ths of the snow is probably frozen over by now, with only an inch or two above all that still powdered...

Time to bust out the go-kart! :D

shakey_snake 26th December 2004 22:18
